Incorrect time in object data
PILOT checks the time in the data sent by the tracker. If the data is too old or contains a date in the future, a red error icon appears next to the object’s status in the object list.

The object may appear online even though no new points appear on the map. The Online status indicates that the tracker is communicating with the system. The error icon helps explain why the incoming data is not updating the object’s position.
How to view error details
Click the red icon next to the object. The Data error window opens with the following information:

-
Current problem — whether the tracker is sending data that is too old or dated in the future
-
Last valid update — the time of the last update with a valid date and time
-
Error started — when the system detected the current problem
-
Last invalid packet — the date and time reported by the tracker in the most recent data with an error. This may differ from the time the system received the data
What to do if an error appears
1. Check the date, time, and time zone in the tracker’s settings. Incorrect settings may cause the error
2. Check time synchronisation. If the tracker receives its time from GPS or GLONASS, make sure synchronisation is working. If the time does not update, restart the tracker
3. If the error persists, contact the specialist who maintains your equipment. Send them a screenshot of the Data error window. They can check the firmware and data transmission settings to determine why the tracker is sending old data or data dated in the future
4. If you need help from PILOT Technical support, provide the object’s name and tracker ID, and attach a screenshot of the Data error window. The screenshot will show the problem type and update times.
The red icon next to the object disappears automatically once PILOT receives data with a valid date and time. The OK button only closes the window; it does not resolve the error.
