Roles and access rights
PILOT uses a hierarchical structure of roles and access rights. This hierarchy helps separate permissions for different types of users.
For example, a company may have drivers, logistics staff, managers, and a director. All of them need access to information about vehicles, assets, and routes, but not to everything at once.
A driver only needs to see their own vehicle and route. The director, on the other hand, needs to see all vehicles, assign drivers, and configure the system for the company.
Each user only sees what they need for their job. Drivers aren’t distracted by unnecessary data, while the director has everything at their fingertips.
That’s why PILOT offers several user types, each with different access rights.
User account roles
1. Administrator
Has full access to all features in the user portal.
2. User
A regular user of the system. They work through the user portal, but their permissions are limited. The administrator decides which actions the user can perform and which are restricted.
Admin panel roles
1. Super administrator
Usually technical support staff with unlimited access to all data and settings. They can perform any action in the system, including managing roles and permissions.
2. Administrator
A PILOT partner who sets up and integrates the monitoring system for different companies and fleets. They have limited rights but can view all fleets they work with, all contracts, vehicles, and all necessary information.
3. User
An administrator (partner) can create additional users for their staff in the admin panel and assign them specific access rights within their own permissions.
In addition to roles, there is a special user status called Master. This status is assigned when logging in through the admin panel. A user with Master status has unlimited rights in the system.
