Viewing cameras in the Dashcam panel

The Dashcam section in the main menu allows you to monitor cameras from several objects at the same time. For example, you can display views from the cabs of different vehicles on one screen and quickly switch to the required camera.

The panel supports up to 64 video streams. The cameras belonging to each object are grouped into a separate block.

Panel interface

The Camera management area on the left contains the list of objects and their connected cameras. The Dashcam workspace on the right displays the video blocks.

The following controls are available at the top of the panel:

Refresh — refreshes the list of objects and cameras
— opens the selected cameras in the panel
— changes the size of all open video blocks;
Camera counter — shows the number of open video streams
— shows the duration of the current viewing session
Streaming time limit — configures automatic stopping of video streams

Selecting cameras

The Camera management list contains all objects with connected cameras.

Expand an object to view its cameras. The connected cameras and their names appear under the object name.

Building the dashboard

To open cameras:

1. Go to the Dashcam tab

2. In the Camera management area, expand the required folder and find the object

3. Expand the object and select the cameras you want to open

You can select individual cameras or all available cameras belonging to the object.

4. Check the number of selected cameras at the top of the panel

5. Click Build dashboard

Separate blocks for the selected objects appear in the workspace. Each block displays the selected cameras.

No more than 64 cameras can be open at the same time.

If the dashboard has already been built, you do not need to rebuild it to add another object. Double-click the required object in the Camera management area. Its cameras are added to the workspace, while the existing streams continue without restarting.

Adjusting the scale

Use the Zoom slider to change the size of all open video blocks at the same time:

zoom out to fit more objects on the screen

zoom in to view camera images in greater detail

Full-screen camera view

Double-click a camera to open it in full-screen mode.

To return to the camera grid:

double-click the image again
or press Esc

Video player controls

The following controls are available at the bottom of each video player:

Start /

Stop — starts or stops the video stream

Sound — adjusts or mutes the sound

Screenshot — captures the current frame

Full screen — expands the player to full screen

Hiding an individual camera

If you temporarily do not need a particular camera, you can hide it. Click the × icon in the upper-right corner of its video stream.

After the camera is hidden:

it is no longer displayed in the block
its active video stream stops
the other cameras belonging to the object continue streaming
the size and layout of the block remain unchanged, and a static area replaces the hidden camera

Stopping unnecessary video streams helps reduce network traffic and computer resource usage.

Restoring hidden cameras

To restore a hidden camera:

1. Click the settings icon in the object block header

2. Open the list of hidden cameras

3. Select the camera you want to restore

To restore all hidden cameras belonging to the object at once, select Show All.

If the block does not contain any hidden cameras, the menu displays No hidden cameras.

Closing an object block

To close an entire video block, click the × icon in its header.

The block is removed from the workspace, and all its active video streams stop. Cameras belonging to other objects continue streaming.

Streaming time limit

You can configure streams to stop automatically after a specified period so that they do not remain active longer than necessary.

1. Click the settings icon

next to Live duration

2. In the Streaming time limit window, enable Automatically stop streaming

3. Specify:

Duration — how long the streams remain active before stopping
Unit — the unit of time, such as minutes or hours

4. Click Save

After saving, Live duration displays the current viewing time and the configured limit: Live duration: current time / configured limit

When the configured time expires, PILOT automatically stops the streams.

If automatic stopping is no longer required, disable Automatically stop streaming and save the settings.
