How to configure sensors and beacons

The PILOT Guarda app can display detailed information about your vehicle’s status, such as battery charge, fuel level, temperature, and other parameters.
To make this information appear in the app, you must first:
Configure the sensors in the PILOT system
• Assign them beacons (tags)
A beacon (tag) is a unique name assigned to a sensor in the monitoring system. Tags allow the app to understand what each sensor represents and correctly display the data on the screen.

Supported sensors

  Tag
  What it displays
  garm_main_battery
Vehicle battery charge (usually the monitoring device’s power voltage)
  garm_engine_lock_status
  Engine lock status
  garm_fuel_level
  Fuel level
  garm_engine_temperature
  Engine temperature
  garm_flat_cable_fault_status
  Cable fault status
  garm_on_board_temperature
  Cabin temperature
  garm_on_board_humidity
  Cabin humidity
  garm_output_1_status
  Output 1 status
  garm_output_2_status
  Output 2 status
  garm_output_3_status
  Output 3 status
  garm_engine_status
  Ignition status

How to configure sensors

Sensor configuration is performed in the PILOT system:
1. Open your user interface
2. Select the desired vehicle. Right-click to open the vehicle menu
3. Go to the Sensors tab
4. Create a new sensor or open an existing one
5. Assign the appropriate tag from the table above
The app uses the tag to determine which data to display on the Car condition screen.
For example:
  • If a temperature sensor is assigned the tag garm_on_board_temperature, the app will display the cabin temperature.
  • If a main power sensor is assigned the tag garm_main_battery, the app will display the vehicle’s battery charge.
  • If an ignition sensor is assigned the tag garm_engine_status, the app will display the engine status — whether it is on or off.
If the required tag is not in the list, create it first, then assign it to the sensor.
6. Save your changes
After this, the sensor data will appear in the Car condition screen in the mobile app.
