Tokens

A token is a unique access code that allows other people to use specific PILOT features without receiving the account credentials.
You can create two types of tokens on the Tokens tab:
  • Monitor token — provides access to the location of selected objects through a public link
  • Access token — allows a user to sign in to PILOT without entering a password

Monitor token

A Monitor token provides another person with access to a map showing selected objects and their movements. The recipient does not receive the account login, password, or full access to the account.

Permissions for managing Monitor tokens

The following permissions are used to manage Monitor tokens:
  • Edit Tokens — allows users to create and edit Monitor tokens and share-location links
  • Delete Tokens — allows users to delete Monitor tokens
To allow a regular user to create or edit a share-location link in the PILOT web application, an administrator or master must grant the Edit Tokens permission. To allow the user to delete these links, grant the Delete Tokens permission as well.

How to grant permissions to a user

1. Open Contract Settings and go to the Staff and groups tab
2. Double-click a user in the list to open the user card
3. Go to the Rights tab
4. Expand the Tokens group
5. Select the required permissions:
  • Edit Tokens — to create and edit tokens
  • Delete Tokens — to delete tokens
6. Click Save

How to create a monitor token

1. In the Monitor tokens section, click Add token
2. In the window that opens, fill in the token information:
  • Set the validity period — select the start and end date and time for the token
  • Choose which map to use for displaying the objects
  • Specify whether to display object markers or sensors on the map
  • Select the objects to monitor using this token
    3. Click Save
    4. The system will generate a unique link or iframe code for embedding
    5. Copy the link or code and send it to the person who needs access to the information

Access token

An Access token is used to sign in to PILOT without a password. When someone follows the generated link, PILOT signs them in as the user associated with the token, as if they had entered that user’s login and password.
An Access token can have a limited validity period or remain valid indefinitely.

How to create an access token

1. In the Access tokens section, click Add token
2. In the new window, specify the start and end date and time for the token. If you do not set an end date, the token will work permanently
3. Click Save

To edit a token, click the pencil icon .
To delete a token, click the trash bin icon
